The sound of spalshing water caught my attention immediately and I turned to see dozens of caribou crossing the creek. As dad was spit-shining the rig, I whispered to him and the kids to look up. This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. It lasted for several minutes. They all crossed through the water, then up to the road and across. Each set would come through, shake off at the top of the hill and then smell the road to see where the rest of the herd went. They would adjust accordingly every so often depending on where we were standing, although we tried out best to give them their space. It was really neat!
