So Ryder absolutely loved this part of the day. We were headed out and I wanted a picture by the gate so we get our “normal” one out of the way and then very quietly I told them to pretend they were dead, totally inappropriate but a wonderful memory for mom 🙂
Hubby and I really enjoyed it here in Deadwood, the town is rich with history. Here we are enjoying a little downtime while the kids are playing some games. One of our best days yet!
We had a great time today in Deadwood. We learned the very interesting history about Wild Bill and his friends. When it came to Calamity Jane though I found myself skipping over most of the reading hahaha 🙂 Who knew! We watched a gun fight, the kids were deputized, ate ice cream, watched Wild Bill get shot at the Saloon and finished the day off at Mt.Moriah Cemetery where Wild Bill and Calamity Jane are buried. Pretty awesome!!
I can’t believe we actually made it. It was pretty amazing being right there. I think I am almost starting to feel what Cody and I have talked about for so long. That most things in life just don’t matter. We just get through our days as fast as we can, always in a hurry…and for what? I really tried to embrace our day and not worry, nitpick and stress over not just the little things but anything. It was hard and at times I was not successful, but I feel closer to be calm and peaceful and any progress is awesome!
He is thinking of a way to turn our rig into a submarine so we can actually visit all 44 states we have left, Hawaii may have to wait.
